1986

Thats right 1986, the year all (NES) oweners were introduced to the legendery game, "The Legend of Zelda." The first Zelda game in the revolutionary series.

The Legend of Zelda was revolutionary in a number of ways. It was the first adventure/RPG to feature an open, nonlinear environment. You were able to break away from a set path and freely explore Hyrule.

It was the first title to feature a built-in lithium battery that saved in-game progress for up to 3 quest at a time. This allowed players to continue where they left off without having to use a password.

The Legend of Zelda was also the first video game to contain a hidden, different second quest that could be accessed by entering "ZELDA" as the players name.

The Legond of Zelda still remains as one of the most popular Nes games. Although many players have upgraded to newer, more powerful systems, it's interesting that so many players still injoy playing this Classic Hit.
